Texas's 7th Congressional District has new boundaries this year, and a lot of Houston voters are finding themselves in it for the first time. Here's what the district covers, who represents it today, and who is on the ballot on November 3.
Texas's 7th Congressional District: the 2026 map
The Texas Legislature redrew the state's congressional map in August 2025. A federal court blocked it that November; the U.S. Supreme Court reinstated it in December and settled the case on April 27, 2026. That map, known as PLANC2333 (https://data.capitol.texas.gov/dataset/planc2333), governs this election.
Under it, TX-07 runs from the Heights, Montrose and River Oaks through West University Place and Bellaire, across southwest Houston, and into Fort Bend County at Mission Bend, Four Corners and part of Sugar Land.

Who represents District 7 in Houston now
Rep. Lizzie Fletcher, a Democrat, has represented TX-07 since January 2019. She has had eight years in Congress, and has only two standalone bills passed (three pages of law) to show for it: a 2020 bill renaming a Houston post office and a two-page 2023 law.
