Terms of Service

Welcome to Alexander Hale for Congress ("we," "us," or "our"). These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of halefortexas.comand any related services we provide (collectively, the "Services"). By accessing or using the Services, you agree to be bound by these Terms.
1. Acceptance of Terms
By visiting the Services, signing up for our communications, submitting volunteer or contact forms, contributing to the campaign, or otherwise interacting with us, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, you should not use the Services.
2. Eligibility and Lawful Use
You must be at least 18 years old (or the legal age in your jurisdiction) to make a contribution. You agree to use the Services only for lawful purposes and in compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations, including campaign finance laws administered by the Federal Election Commission (FEC) and the Texas Ethics Commission.
3. Contributions
Federal law prohibits contributions to a federal campaign from foreign nationals (other than U.S. permanent residents), federal contractors, and corporations or labor organizations from their treasury funds. By contributing, you certify that:
- You are a U.S. citizen or lawfully admitted permanent resident.
- The funds are your own and not those of another person.
- You are not a federal contractor and the contribution is not made on a corporate or labor organization credit card.
- You are at least 18 years of age and the contribution is not from another person reimbursing you.
Total campaign contribution maximum is $7,000 ($3,500 for the primary election plus $3,500 for the general election). Contributions are not tax-deductible for federal income tax purposes. Federal law requires us to report the name, address, occupation, and employer of individuals whose contributions exceed $200 in an election cycle.
4. User Submissions
When you submit information through volunteer forms, surveys, contact requests, or other features, you agree that the information is accurate, complete, and not misleading. You grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide license to use any submitted material for campaign communications, organizing, and lawful campaign activities.
5. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Use the Services to transmit any unlawful, harassing, defamatory, or otherwise objectionable content.
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any portion of the Services, related systems, or other users' data.
- Interfere with the Services through denial-of-service attempts, scraping at unreasonable rates, automated abuse, or similar conduct.
- Misrepresent your identity, including by submitting forms on behalf of another person without authorization.
6. Communications
By providing your phone number and opting in, you consent to receive recurring text messages, including event reminders, issue updates, volunteer opportunities, and donation requests. Message frequency varies. Msg and data rates may apply. Reply HELP for assistance or STOP to opt out at any time. By providing your email address, you consent to receive recurring email communications. You may unsubscribe from email at any time using the link in our messages.
7. Intellectual Property
The Services, including the design, logos, text, photos, graphics, and code, are owned by or licensed to Alexander Hale for Congress and are protected by copyright, trademark, and other applicable laws. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works without our prior written consent, except for personal, non-commercial use consistent with normal browsing.
8. Third-Party Services
The Services may contain links to third-party services, including but not limited to WinRed (for contributions), Stripe, Google Workspace, Mapbox, and social media platforms. We are not responsible for the content, privacy practices, or terms of those third-party services. Your use of those services is governed by their terms.
9. Disclaimers
The Services are provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Services will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free.
10. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Alexander Hale for Congress and its officers, agents, contractors, and volunteers shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or punitive damages arising out of or related to your use of the Services.
11. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Alexander Hale for Congress, its officers, agents, and volunteers from any claim, loss, liability, or expense arising out of your breach of these Terms or your use of the Services in violation of applicable law.
12. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. The updated version will be indicated by a new revision date and will be effective as soon as it is posted. Continued use of the Services after the revision date constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
13. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas and applicable federal law, without regard to conflict of law principles. You agree that any dispute arising out of these Terms or your use of the Services shall be brought in the state or federal courts located in Harris County, Texas, and you consent to the personal jurisdiction of those courts.
